Obituary for Mr. Clyde Bruno "SKIPPY" Chapron III

Mr. Clyde Bruno "SKIPPY" Chapron III
Clyde Bruno “Skippy” “Skip Bo” Chapron III was born December 20, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Sandra Marie Carr Chapron and Clyde Bruno Chapron, Jr. He was baptized at New Zion Baptist Church at an early age. As a child his parents noticed that Clyde had a beautiful, artistic mind and he took great interest in the fine arts area. He mastered drawing, playing musical instruments, and cooking but his first loves were fishing and fixing up his cars.

Clyde was educated in New Orleans, LA, Minneapolis, MN, and Houston, TX. As a freshman he attended St. Pius X High School but graduated from Chester W. Nimitz High School (Aldine ISD) in 1987. At a younger age Clyde was a boy scout. He participated in the Junior Olympics and became a Texas Champion by winning eight out of nine track and field events. Clyde was an excellent football, basketball, track and baseball athlete. His senior year in high school he was invited to the Atlanta Braves baseball tryouts. Clyde also received scholarship offers from Xavier University and Alcorn State University but he chose to attend Texas Southern University. At Texas Southern he played the cymbals and was a member of the Funk Train in the well renowned Ocean of Soul Marching Band. As an Ocean alumni Clyde supported the band by mentoring current members, providing donations and attending home and away games. In March of 2018 Clyde was recognized as an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi.

In 1991 Clyde Chapron III enlisted in the United States Army. As a member of the Engineer division he served in the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm). Clyde was honorably discharged and we thank our son and brother for his service.

After returning home Clyde returned to Texas Southern University and worked in Aldine ISD with special needs students at the Aldine 9th grade campus. He was dedicated to his students and worked diligently to ensure their educational success.

On July 3, 2002 Clyde was blessed with his only child, Chandra Najae Chapron. His daughter was one of his
proudest accomplishments and he spoke often about the time they spent together.

Clyde has worked with Baker Hughes as a Field Engineer for the past eleven years. During this tenure he became a supervisor and traveled across the country. Clyde took great pride in his job and worked tirelessly sometimes even missing family events and holidays.

On May 8, 2015 he was certified as a brother of the Scottish Rite Grand Lodge, Union Lodge No. 39, A.F. & A.M. in Houston, TX.

Clyde was preceded in death by his Mother, Sandra Marie Carr Chapron; Grandparents, Clyde Bruno Chapron, Sr., Wilhelmina Lacey Chapron, Henry D. Carr, Sr., Gertrude Coleman Carr; Aunts, Cheryl Carr, Michelle Carr, Jesslan Johnson; and Uncles, Michael Carr and Timothy Green.

Clyde is survived by: Daughter, Chandra Chapron; Father, Clyde Bruno Chapron, Jr.; Step-mother, Susan Green Chapron; Siblings, Corey Chapron, Tiffany Chapron (Lloyd Brown), Crystal Chapron, Lacey Chapron (Deshaun Castex), Shelley Chapron, and Shaylan Adams; Aunts, Janet Jourdan and Sheila Carr, Katherine Herbert, Karen Green; Uncle, Henry D. Carr, Jr. and Patrick Green; Nephews, Anthony, Caleb and Alexander; Nieces, Aaliyah and Riley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
