Life Story for Mrs. Kathryn Wallace

Kathryn Louise Wallace was born on May 12, 1948 to William “Billy” Purvis and Ruthie May Traylor in Kansas City, Missouri. She moved with her family to Rillito, Arizona in 1954 where her mother met and Married Claude Traylor, who became her Step-Father until his passing in 1993.

The family eventually ended up in Phoenix, Arizona and she graduated from South Mountain High School in 1966. It’s in Phoenix that she met William Lynnwood Wallace, married in 1967 and had her only son, William Len Wallace (also known as Lennie or Bomb).

In 1976, her and little William moved to Houston, Texas to reunite with Big William. After a few years, the marriage deteriorated and they divorced in 1980.

Kathryn became baptized as a youth and was always a member of the family church, so it was fitting that she would be baptized again in 1983 and join McGee Chapel Baptist Church where she remained a member for many years until she started attending churches near her current residence and then finally attending The Church Without Walls in her final years.

Kathryn leaves to mourn, her son William Wallace, daughter-in-law Tashemia Wallace, Grandson Drake Wallace of Houston, Texas, Sister Elaine Purvis of Austin, Texas, Sisters Sandra Traylor, Sylvia Traylor, and Lanetha Traylor of Phoenix, Arizona, Brothers Rodney Traylor and Kevin Traylor. Also, a host of Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her Mother Ruthie May Traylor (1995), her Sister Lorraine “Diane” Davis (1990), and her sister Debbie Traylor (2002).
