Robert Earl Houston was born to Ira and Ruth Houston on June 24, 1956
in Houston, Texas. He attended Houston Independent School District
Schools. Robert met and married Doris Ford in 1976 and to this union, a
son was born. In his younger years Robert worked for Gray Tool
Company.

Robert had a love for working in the yard so he became a landscaper. He
was gifted at his craft until his health failed. He was a very quiet man that
stayed to himself most of the time. He loved old time R&B music, you
would always hear the Blues at most of our holiday events and parties.
Robert was united with First Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church at an
early age under the leadership of the late Reverend J.E. Coleman.
Robert departed this life on April 19, 2016. He is preceded in death by his
father, Ira V. Houston; his brothers, Walter L. Hasty and Jesse Houston;
and one great-grandson.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Doris Houston; son,
Donnell; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Ruth
Houston; three sisters, Verna Archie (Rev. Donald), Sandra Poloe (Paul)
and Sheryl Brewer; his nieces and nephews, Rev. Junious Jr., James
(Kiera), Kim Jones (Adrian), Latasha Rivers (Shamon), Roderick, Walter
Jr. (Mary), Lionel Hasty (Tarsha), Derrick Atkins (Denetria); along with a
host of relatives and close friends.
