Obituary for Mr. Michael Wayne Lewis

Mr. Michael Wayne Lewis
Michael Wayne Lewis was born on July 8, 1958 to the late Marion Lewis, Sr. and Dorothy Lewis, in Monroe, Louisiana. He departed this life on September 7, 2017. Michael accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Michael had a love for the bass guitar, leading him to attend Grambling State University where he played in their infamous marching band. He moved to Houston, TX in the late 1970s, where he became a member of El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and served as the bass guitar player. On July 5, 1986, Michael married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Lewis. In 2005, Michael joined Mount Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Fifth Ward. He served as the bass guitar player until his passing. Michael loved God, his family, and music and was always ready with an encouraging word, and this is what he will most be remembered by.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Barbara Lewis; (2) daughters, Rose Mary Lewis of Monroe, LA, Brooke Lewis Perkins (Nico) of El Paso, TX; (1) son Kendric Pullins (Jana); Mother Dorothy Lewis of Houston, TX; (4) brothers Terry Lewis (Robin), Marion Lewis, Jr. (Harriett) of Houston, TX, (2) Dennis Lewis of Monroe, LA, and Jamal Lewis (preceded him in death); (7) grandsons; Aunts, Uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
